A woman has filed a national class action lawsuit against Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Inc., claiming that they purchased unnecessary flood insurance and received commission on the unnecessary insurance.
According to the complaint, Wells Fargo required the woman to purchase $100,000 worth of flood insurance, which was different than her mortgage agreement and the federal law.
Although the woman already had flood insurance to cover his principle balance, which is all the law requires, Wells Fargo, took out a second policy without consent.
The woman is seeking damages on behalf of herself and others affected after Wells Fargo did the same to them.
